Thank you for purchasing a Miss Talia Pendant. All proceeds go towards Talia Krumbach’s medical bills.
Talia’s story began in-utero at 20 weeks when she was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect of pulmonary atresia, hypoplastic tricuspid valve and hypoplastic right ventricle.
At 29 weeks in-utero, her parents flew to Boston for fetal intervention to correct Talia’s pulmonary valve. She was the 11th baby to have this experimental surgery. The surgery was a success, but a month later we found out that the blood flow through the pulmonary valve had narrowed.
Miss Talia came in to the world on May 5th, 2009, pink, screaming and ready to fight. Since then, Talia has gone through 5 heart surgeries and 8 heart catheters.
Her last heart surgery was in Omaha on Aug. 18th, 2010. She got her tricuspid valve replaced for the 3rd time, had a stent put in her superior vena cava and her pulmonary veins were re-configured with tubing.
Her last 2 heart catheters were in Boston. On Nov. 22nd, her tricuspid valve was replaced through heart catheter. She is the smallest person to ever have had this done. The other heart catheter was done Dec. 7th, 2010. They put a hole in her atrial septum, put a stent in her pulmonary artery and widened her pulmonary valve.
If you saw Miss Talia today, you would never know the obstacles that she has overcome. Her bravery and strength is something for all of us to emulate.
